South-South technology transfer linking women

Phyla Zambia has developed a unique South-South technology transfer facility which links Indian women with Zambian women. Our elite Pongamia pinnata saplings start their journey in Southern India, in the state of Karnataka, where they are de-leafed, de-soiled and fumigated, preparing them for their long trip to Zambia. Once the saplings arrive, we unpack, repot and acclimatise them.  They are then cared for by our team of women in Zambia (shown).

South-South technological collaboration has significant potential to harness economic growth, and in this case stable, local economic development. We are proud to advance alliances between women in India and Zambia to further sustainable development and enhance livelihoods in both countries.
